Apollo - Bright Lights / Default

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;

Pack up the moon and
dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and
sweep up the wood.

For nothing now can
ever come to any good.

Now that I have your attention, I'd like to direct it toward a delightful and inspirational movie us mortals refer to as Mamma Mia!-- and, Apollo's favorite movie of 2008. I rewatched it tonight and noticed something I almost forgot.

A Greek Cameo from The Credits! )

Uh, I promise I'll continue the blindness plot soon. This movie inspired me like crazy, hahaha.

Apollo appeared in the Underworld, shimmering and absolutely radiating in heat -- if he had been attempting to be inconspicuous, he failed miserably. Charon had given a laugh at the sight as he paddled along Styx, knowing the child-king had clearly done something to attract his oh-so-bright nephew down to the depths.

He tossed a pair of coins to the laughing boatman and alighted at the center of the Underworld, each step burning into the icy ground as he approached Hades' palace.

"Uncle!" he shouted, searching the dark windows for any sign of life, "Uncle, where are you?"

Now that half the community has insisted I be bedridden, I have passed the time by entertaining myself with YouTube. I feel I simply must share this with everyone, especially with a certain uncle of mine...

If you do not return to the Underworld in three days, I will eat all of your Girl Scout cookies.

Particularly the Samoas.

...you'd think, after so many years, he'd figure out that he'll never get that boulder to the top.

Earlier, I killed Ares about a million times in God of War. That was fun, for about... the first nine thousand times. After that... it was kind of boring.

I took a walk through Elysium Fields, and saw quite a few people who have become naught but myths in this modern day.

I... I met Troilus. My poor, poor boy. Murdered on his father's own altar. I shall never forgive Achilles for that trespass. May he rot in the River for all time.

Hyacinthus, I saw your parents there, and Cynortas, as well. I told them about your quest for godhood, and they're ever so proud of you.

[Locked to Hyacinth]
I miss you terribly, love. I want to see you so badly, feel your touch. Everything is icy and dark here, it's stifling. I don't know how long I'll be able to stand it.
